Position Overview:
As Head Technician of our newest store you will be responsible for managing the work which flows through the workshop, completing work on some of the highest quality bikes available. You will have the opportunity to build a workshop environment and team in your own vision, playing a significant role in customer satisfaction and retention after the purchase of their new bike as well as servicing their current cycles.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the workshop team, providing guidance, support, and ongoing training to enhance mechanics' skills.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure all repair and maintenance work is performed to the highest standards, focusing on precision and efficiency.
* Complex Diagnosis: Diagnose intricate mechanical issues across a wide range of bike types, including road, mountain, gravel, and e-bikes, and provide clear guidance on solutions.
* Workflow Management: Oversee daily operations, prioritise tasks, and manage resources to ensure smooth and efficient workshop functionality.
* Workspace Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are operational.
* Customer Service: Act as the primary contact for customer inquiries related to repairs, offering expert insights and clear communication to resolve issues.
* Collaboration: Work closely with store management to align workshop processes with the broader goals of the business.
* Customer Engagement: Keep customers informed throughout the service process to ensure a positive experience.
Skills & Experience:
* Extensive professional experience as a bike mechanic, with proven leadership experience in a workshop environment.
* Advanced technical expertise in bike mechanics, including comprehensive knowledge of modern bike technologies and e-bike systems.
* Cytech Level 3 certification is highly desirable; Cytech Level 2 with substantial experience will also be considered.
* Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Exceptional communication and organisational skills, along with a team-focused approach to leadership.
* Competitive salary up to £28,000 per annum.
