About the role
Post Title: Temporary Accommodation Coordinator
Team: Homeless Accommodation Support Service
We are seeking a dedicated Temporary Accommodation Coordinator to help us achieve Bury Council's key priorities, including the elimination of Bed & Breakfast accommodation and the effective management of statutory interim accommodation.
You will lead and coordinate the temporary accommodation service, ensuring the provision of safe, secure and suitable housing solutions. You will collaborate with other teams within the Homelessness & Housing Options Service, local agencies, and external providers to secure and manage appropriate accommodation for those in need. You will ensure that all accommodation meets statutory requirements and provides a supportive environment for individuals and families. You will monitor accommodation usage, ensure accurate records, and be responsible for service delivery and outcomes.
You will need a strong understanding of Homelessness guidance, particularly related to temporary accommodation and asylum and migration. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills. You will have a proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines. A commitment to the council vision of reducing reliance on Bed & Breakfast accommodation and improving outcomes for residents is essential.
You will work within a supportive team and help drive meaningful change within the community. You will play a key role in shaping homeless accommodation support services and improving the lives of vulnerable customers.
Directly responsible to Homelessness & Housing Options Manager
Directly responsible for Private Rented Temporary Accommodation Worker
Town Hall, Bury or any other base within the borough, as required
Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.
