An opportunity has arisen to develop or consolidate your knowledge and skills as a Band 6 Interventional Nurse in the Diagnostic Imaging Department, predominantly based at Maidstone Hospital, although cross-site working is expected. Diagnostic Imaging provides a wide range of patient services within multiple imaging modalities, including X-Ray, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Interventional Radiology.
You will be required to foster good working relationships within a multi-disciplinary department. You should be approachable with good leadership and communication skills. You should also be self-motivated and have excellent time management skills.
We also welcome applications from junior B5 nurses who would like to work towards developing skills in these areas to meet B6 competencies in the future.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a candidate who has broad experience in a hospital environment and can demonstrate high quality of patient care. The role is challenging and the successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of safe, quality care to patients undergoing interventional procedures.
You will be encouraged to develop your clinical skills as part of your ongoing personal and professional development. Ideally, you will have experience in Radiology, Cardiology, A&E, Theatre/Recovery, or ITU/HDU, although other experience will also be considered. Training in Interventional Radiology Nursing will be given, and it is expected that competencies will be completed within one year of joining the team.
Hours to be worked between 08:00 - 18:00 Monday to Friday (flexibility within these hours will be required, and duties will vary each week with 75% of time spent in Interventional Radiography).

Once your pre-employment checks have been completed, you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date, which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions. Following your Corporate Induction, you will be expected to attend the Trust's 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs, and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions, and e-learning.
