We work closely with various internal departments to assist in financial data analysis, including VMR (Visual Media Rights), Royalties and Business Affairs. Often, this involves calculating complex royalty rate adjustments, as well as client financial analysis. Utilizing analytical tools for big data projects (such as Power BI & Redshift Query Editor within AWS) is key. We are also tasked with liaising directly with clients, client representatives, management, lawyers, and accountants.

Income tracking reviews include digital streaming, video on demand, synch licenses, TV broadcast and live performances. To identify income collection opportunities, we collaborate with various teams including VRM, A&R & worldwide SMP affiliate offices. We provide a unique service for all major clients regarding worldwide arena tours & also review UK deal model forecasts, to identify potential shortfalls and opportunities in income collection.
3. Client Audit & Process Developments: In this area we lead dialogue with audit firms & client lawyers in conducting audit examinations (UK clients and Overseas clients – excluding US). We collaborate with internal departments to facilitate audits in providing requested documentation. During audit examinations, we field claims, liaise with applicable departments, deliver responses on behalf of SMP, and negotiate examinations to settlement. We utilize learnings from audit examinations to provide insight to the company re ‘best practice’ in administration processes, and direct our Global hub in the implementation of systematic changes to the benefit of our clients.
