We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. This is a varied and hands-on role offering fantastic exposure across key areas of finance, including Purchase Ledger, Procurement, and Credit Control.
You'll be an essential part of our Finance Department, helping to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and contributing to long-term financial efficiency. This role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and a drive to continuously improve processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Process purchase order requests and supplier invoices
Reconcile supplier statements and assist with month-end processes
Support procurement, including negotiating with suppliers and reviewing contracts
Monitor and manage staff travel processes and related finance procedures
Carry out credit control tasks including chasing customers and reducing aged debt
Maintain and update supplier and customer records
Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve finance queries
Support the Finance Manager with purchasing for new services and cost-saving initiatives
Update commissioner portals and distribute customer invoices
Ensure compliance with procurement and payment procedures
Conduct new supplier checks and maintain accurate supplier databases
What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role is desirable
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Confident communicator with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
A willingness to learn and grow within the finance function
