Private healthcare through BUPA and Aviva. Company pension scheme. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Advisor to join our client's Operations team. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this key role will be responsible for managing and developing our ISO14001-certified Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring compliance with environmental permits and licenses, and driving resource efficiency and sustainability improvements across the business. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the EMS across the organisation, collaborating with the Health and Safety Manager to integrate systems effectively. Identify and implement sustainable methods for product reuse and circular economy improvements. Maintain and develop environmental permits and licenses, including Waste Management Exemptions and Waste Carrier Licenses. Manage waste activities, ensuring compliance with transfrontier shipment requirements and improving circularity across operations. Implement and maintain solutions to enhance compliance and deliver continuous environmental improvements in areas such as waste, water, energy, and resource use. Ensure robust carbon planning arrangements are in place across the business. Develop and maintain systems to track environmental performance data (e.g., energy consumption, waste generation). Review and improve environmental procedures and tools as needed. Facilitate inspections, audits, and client site visits as required. Deliver training programmes on environmental topics. Occasionally perform out-of-hours work when necessary. Qualifications and Requirements: Degree in Environmental, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related discipline. Proven experience with ISO14001-certified EMS, environmental compliance, waste management, and delivering environmental performance improvements. Strong communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills. Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time effectively. Desirable: Experience in industrial symbiosis/resource matching for waste materials and familiarity with IT-based environmental monitoring technology.
