We are seeking applications from highly motivated individuals, who have an understanding of prescribed medications or have previously worked within a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting, to join our friendly GP practice, as a prescription clerk.
The successful applicant will work closely with our GPs, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Paramedic, Nurses and Reception Team as well as Community Pharmacists.
Examples of work to be undertaken include but are not limited to:
1. Processing of routine repeat prescriptions using multiple platforms.
2. Expedite urgent prescription requests to ensure a safe and responsive service for our patients.
3. Working closely with the pharmacy team to assist with prescription queries, supply issues, medication alerts.
4. Liaise with community pharmacies.
5. Raise blood test request forms to coincide with medication reviews.
6. Medication Audits.
7. Run regular searches to identify patients needing a medication review.
8. Reconcile patient medications against hospital discharge summaries.
9. Prepare prescription requests to ensure safe prescribing of medicines, always ensuring a high level of accuracy.
