Position: Senior Accountant
Location: Cornwall, UK
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review and sign off company accounts prepared by junior team members.
2. Examine and authorise company tax returns, concurrently spotting avenues for tax planning.
3. Assess and complete self-assessment tax returns for clients to ensure accuracy and compliance.
4. Offer guidance and assistance to junior team members, particularly during the process of onboarding new clients.
5. Examine and authorise VAT returns, aid in client registration, and pinpoint potential VAT opportunities and risks.
6. Supervise and guide junior team members, ensuring efficient workload management.
7. Initiate new business calls and collaborate with management to foster portfolio growth.
Requirements:
1. ACA or ACCA qualification preferred.
2. A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in a practice setting, demonstrating independent portfolio management skills.
3. Proficiency in Xero is preferred; experience with TaxCalc and Excel is a plus.
4. Demonstrate independence, honesty, approachability, and friendliness, with proven capability in portfolio and team management.
5. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
