The Senior ESG Data Specialist will play a pivotal role in advancing our ESG strategy and supporting the Head of Sustainability by collecting, analyzing, and reporting on environmental, social, and governance data as well as regulatory disclosures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, a deep understanding of ESG principles, and experience within the chemical industry. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance our ESG performance.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Data Collection and Management:
1. Collect and manage ESG data from various sources within the company.
2. Support the Head of Sustainability in setting up data governance processes and controls and new data systems and procedures (including implementation of new software as applicable).
3. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all reporting platforms.
4. Develop and maintain databases, data management systems and dashboards, enabling utilization of the data for a range of key stakeholders including BoD and Executive Leadership Team.
5. Track and report on all Arxada Sustainability goals/targets regularly.
2. Analysis and Reporting:
1. Analyze ESG data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
2. Prepare comprehensive ESG reports for internal and external stakeholders including lenders for SLL targets, investors, customers, regulators, industry bodies, etc.
3. Collaborate closely with the finance department on mandatory disclosures (e.g., CSRD) and data assurance processes by external audit bodies.
4. Work with the ESG team to develop and refine key performance indicators (KPIs).
3. Compliance and Benchmarking:
1. Ensure compliance with relevant ESG standards and regulations.
2. Benchmark company performance against industry standards and best practices.
3. Stay updated on emerging ESG regulations and trends within the chemical industry.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
1. Work closely with various departments to gather necessary data and insights.
2. Communicate ESG performance and initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
3. Support the Head of Sustainability and BU Heads with all data needs related to customer requests, RfPs, pitch decks.
4. Assist investor relations with ESG-related inquiries and reporting.
5. Strategy Development:
1. Contribute to the development and implementation of the company’s ESG strategy.
2. Identify opportunities for improving ESG performance and sustainability practices.
3. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on ESG-related matters.
