I am currently recruiting on behalf of a Tier 1 Contractor who builds medium-sized projects through to some of the largest and most recognisable in the South. The company has a turnover of £650 million and their name is recognised within the marketplace as delivering projects to the highest quality on time and budget.
Due to an internal promotion, they currently have a requirement for a Setting Out Engineer to join the Southern team. Projects are typically valued between £5 million and £60 million and will cover a wide range of interesting projects.
With one of the best training programs in the UK and one of the lowest turnovers of staff on the South Coast, this should be seen as a long-term career opportunity.
Engineer Roles/Duties:
1. Setting out including recording as-built and reporting any discrepancies.
2. Setting out, levelling and surveying on site.
3. Liaising with the construction teams to ensure plans and drawings are accurate.
4. Keeping a site diary.
5. Reporting site progress to the engineering and survey department.
6. Planning and managing your own time to ensure all sites can be catered for.
7. Conducting quality control checks and build records.
8. Providing site technical support.
9. Assisting in the supervision of subcontractors on site.
10. Checking quantities for accuracy of calculations.
11. Liaising with subcontractors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce.
12. Attending regular site meetings and keeping the client and contracts manager informed of progress made.
13. Ensuring quality control.
