THE ROLE
We’re looking to appoint a Technical Buyer to support our busy Purchasing Department. Responsible for the purchase of manufactured parts essential to our motorsport programmes, the Technical Buyer will work closely with our Design and Engineering teams to deliver the very best in terms of performance and sustainability.
The role responsibilities include:
* Ordering manufactured parts.
* Progressing and chasing outstanding orders.
* Maintaining the computerised recording of stock movements in and out of the department.
* Producing and circulating weekly status reports for outstanding orders.
* Producing and updating schedules and plans for major components, assemblies, and projects.
* Compiling and updating information regarding order value by supplier.
* Working closely with department heads to deliver bespoke parts.
* Ensuring sustainability by identifying new suppliers.
* Accompanying senior management on occasional supplier visits.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
You should be a well-organised individual with an eye for detail as well as an understanding of technical parts and knowledge of commercial invoices.
You should be capable of prioritising busy workloads to meet strict deadlines in a time-sensitive environment, and be a creative thinker with a talent for resolving issues – always keen to seek a positive outcome and involve the right parties with your strong collaboration skills.
This complements strong communication, excellent telephone etiquette, strong negotiation skills and an ability to build strong internal and external relationships which instil a sense of trust and security amongst colleagues and customers alike.
You should have strong computer skills and be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite as well as an understanding of computerised stock control systems.
Experience in a similar race or rally setting would be an advantage, and you should be committed to delivering a consistently high level of customer service and performance.
