Duties and Responsibilities: Manage incoming medication requests e.g. from patients, pharmacies, care homes, etc. Provide the first point of contact for patients calling the practice, with concerns or questions regarding their medications. Process prescription requests within the practice timeframe. Allocate medication reviews to the appropriate healthcare professional when repeat medication has expired. Deal with prescription queries from patients, pharmacies and other healthcare professionals either in person, online or on the telephone. Collate information from medication related queries and forward to an appropriate healthcare professional in a timely manner. Liaise with patients to resolve queries and support their use of medication. Manage prescription requests from vulnerable or high priority patients. Promotion of Electronic Prescription Service, Online Ordering and Electronic Repeat Dispensing. Liaise with pharmacies on the supply of prescribed drugs, alert clinicians of any supply issues and forward information on the recommended alternative. Contribute to improving prescribing processes in practice. Carry out housekeeping of repeat medication e.g. medicines synchronisation. Establish and maintain administrative systems so that information is easily accessible and secure. Support the role of the Clinical Pharmacy Technician and Lead Pharmacist at practice and PCN level on the delivery of Clinical Pharmacy in General Practice. To be responsible for the organisation and planning of own workload to meet set deadlines. To undertake learning and development to maintain the required knowledge and skills for practice-based work. To carry out other duties which are appropriate to the skills and competencies of the post holder as the priorities of the service change.
