RGS Worcester is seeking to appoint two highly motivated and inspirational individuals to support our Physical Education and Games Department as Graduate Sports Coaches for a period of one year, starting in September 2025. Interviews will take place between 17th–21st March, with details to be confirmed to shortlisted candidates in due course.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a thriving department within beautiful surroundings, utilising the school’s outstanding sporting facilities. These include four outdoor netball courts, two indoor sports halls, a fitness suite, a dance studio, and a full-size, floodlit, all-weather pitch. Our playing fields are within walking distance of the school, and there are also 50 acres of grounds at RGS The Grange. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute significantly to our games and after-school club fixtures. The ability to coach our major sports (hockey, rugby, netball, football, and cricket) would be desirable, although we will consider expertise in other activities.
The successful candidates will be required to balance a determined work ethic with positivity whilst demonstrating a genuine love for sports and a commitment to sharing their enthusiasm with young people. Please note that this is a one-year fixed-term position and may suit someone who is finishing their studies and looking to gain experience in sports and the education sector. We may, for the right candidate, offer support with teacher training in future years. For further details, please see the or contact Keith Fowles, Director of Sport, via kjf@rgsw.org.uk.
Please note that RGSW does not support VISA sponsorship applications.
Applications: All candidates are required to apply via the TES online application form (no CVs will be accepted). RGS Worcester reserves the right to close applications early if a suitable calibre of candidates applies; candidates may be called for an interview at an earlier date.
We particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups, including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or religion.
Rehabilitation of Offenders: This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013, and 2020. Further information about filtering offences can be found in the DBS filtering guide.
Candidates should be aware that if shortlisted, an online search will be conducted as an additional safeguarding check.
The Governors of RGS Worcester are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
