Salary: £28,854 per annum (FTE of £36,067)
By joining this project team you will have the unique opportunity to develop a new object-focused photography standard at Tate for the wider Studio and Materials Collection, bringing to life the stories and history behind Barbara Hepworth’s tools and studio furnishings.
Alongside producing captivating photographs for publication and technical imaging for documentation, there will be opportunities to photograph the Palais de Danse itself during and after refurbishment. You will be working with a range of collection objects including scrapers, files, rasps, prototypes and polishes, furniture and fittings in the newly built photography studio at the offsite store and conservation unit in St Ives, Cornwall.
As well as being a creative and meticulous photographer with a good eye for detail and studio lighting, you will have excellent organisational skills, and be able to advocate and communicate well with the rest of the project team. You will work closely with the Conservator, Technician and Project Registrar to create a positive, collaborative environment and efficient project workflow.
This role is part-time, three days a week. It is based in Cornwall and not open to remote working. This post is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
This position is offered on a fixed-term contract until April 2027.
