One of the duties that may be required as a Learning Support Worker is to assist individuals on day trips and shopping trips. The Ideal Candidate We are seeking an exceptional Learning Support Worker who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and or young adults with SEN. While specific requirements may vary depending on the school or college and the needs of the students, here are some qualities and qualifications that an ideal candidate for this role would possess: Be committed to work a minimum of 16 hours per week Relevant experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally within an educational or care setting. A genuine empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by people with SEN, along with a patient and supportive approach. Good knowledge of different learning needs and strategies to support people with SEN, including specific conditions or disabilities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals. A collaborative mindset, working well as part of a team, while also being capable of working independently and taking initiative when needed.
