JOB PURPOSE
he Senior Business Information Security Officer (BISO) team are at the heart of Liberty Global’s information security and transformation programme, ensuring that we continue to deliver on our purpose of “delivering tomorrow’s connections today”.
Senior BISOs, acting as single points of contact for their business areas, are expected to understand the strategy of their respective business units, be responsible for the interactions with group shared security services, and are responsible for the security outcomes of their business units.

The team are here to help drive business-focussed security by providing tailored engagement and support across the business with a focus on delivering exceptional service at all times.
Finally, the BISO team are the leading force for information security and cyber risk management!With an in-depth knowledge of the respective business segments, they are best positioned to understand the actual risk and the unique business context.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Engagement and Delivery:
* Develop an understanding of business goals in order to constructively engage senior business leaders on information security, identifying key areas for improvement, driving appropriate risk management decisions and collaborating with partners to achieve positive outcomes and business benefits
* Act as the primary security point of contact for business leadership (typically Director level and above) across Liberty Shared Services (LSS), to deliver tailored, expert advice to ensure the secure delivery of new projects and initiatives
* Facilitate and enable security support to business projects by acting as the interlock between business unit project leadership and wider Group Security experts
* Using in depth security knowledge, pro-actively assess, review, and constructively challenge existing process to deliver improvements to overarching security control posture
* Working with senior business leaders to ensure that information security policies and standards are integrated with business processes. Constructively challenging existing processes where necessary
* Lead on ensuring our Financial and HR applications and services are deployed in a way that aligns to relevant information security policies and standard process controls
* Effectively engaging to ensure that key contacts have a clear understanding of the information security strategy, roadmap and programmes and the key activities they are required to deliver within their business area.
* Develop in depth understanding of LSS project roadmap and progress, providing regular detailed updates to Group Security leadership to highlight key security concerns
* Managing the provision of ad-hoc security advice and support to a variety of partners – leading the ‘front door’ to security
Risk Management:
* Developing strong relationships in order to build a detailed understanding of the security risks that exist across the business
* With a focus on LSS, taking accountability for the identification, assessment and management of new and existing risks in a way that balances security with business priorities
* Regularly briefing senior leadership team on cyber threats and risks profile – ensuring this information is delivered to the business with clarity
* In partnership with the Security Risk team, supporting the timely reporting of risks to security and business leadership (including to MD audience and above)
Culture and Awareness:
* In close partnership with the Security Academy:
* Deliver against the overarching security culture and awareness strategy across LSS and supporting teams
* Building business awareness of emerging security threats and risks and develop a security culture throughout the organisation
* Regularly briefing the Liberty Shared Services leadership team on progress against the information security strategy, roadmap, and programmes, as well as emerging cyber threats and changes to risk profile
* Using expert knowledge of the business, identify key areas of focus for education and awareness campaigns
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:
* Experience and knowledge of best practice information security controls and the potential impact of controls on business operations
* Highly skilled at identifying security risks and exposures as well as remedial controls and processes
* Experience of supporting the security review and secure deployment of HR, Finance and Legal/ Compliance applications
* Knowledge of cloud security controls and best practice with a focus on Azure and Google Cloud Platform environments
* Ability to see the bigger picture – always considering the wider impacts of security decision making
* Experience of working with technical and non-technical partners to embed security controls in line with business risk appetite
* Exceptional communicator with demonstratable experience providing written and verbal presentations
* Able to work independently to deliver high quality support to senior partners
* Excellent relationship management skills at all levels of the organisation
DESIRABLE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
* Experience of providing security advisory for automation initiatives, including deployment of AI solutions• Good understanding of security frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST etc.)
* Good understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, PCI DSS)
* Good awareness of Security Architecture and Engineering, Security Operations, and Security Governance, Risk and Control (inc. Business Continuity Management)
* Comfortable with interpreting technical requirements, regulations and procedures and translating into clear messages for non-technical audiences
* Good team player that enjoys collaborative problem solving
PREFERRED EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
* Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)/ Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)/ Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
