Provide effective management and leadership for the Finance Team.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the functions of the Finance Team including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, online payments, general ledger, cash holdings and control accounts.
2. Maintain relationships with external stakeholders including the College's bank.
3. Take responsibility for the administration of the College's use of finance system.
4. Implement improvements in the College's use of the finance system.
5. Support budget holders in budgetary control and provide user-friendly and timely financial reports for budget holders and management.
6. Advise senior leaders on key financial matters.
7. Develop and oversee financial policies and procedures.
8. Ensure robust and effective financial controls are in place and complied with at the College.
9. Ensure that all College income is maximised for the benefit of the students.
10. Lead the budget-setting and financial forecasting processes.
11. Monitor spend against budget in order to inform strategic decisions.
12. Provide financial management to the Abacus Maths Hub and other initiatives that the College participates in.
13. Undertake financial analysis of College activities including the work with Higher Education and initiatives such as T-Levels.
14. Support year-end accounting and audit processes for the College.
15. Take responsibility for the timely and efficient preparation and submission of financial returns to the regulatory bodies.
16. Ensure timely implementation of recommendations from Audit and Assurance Reports.
17. Ensure any tax obligations are discharged correctly and effectively.
18. Undertake such duties that may be assigned commensurate with the grade and overall responsibility level of the post and as changing circumstances may require.
