About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking, motivated Learning Support Assistant to become part of our team at Halfpenny Lane Junior, Infant and Nursery School. We are looking for someone with a proactive 'can-do' attitude and a passion for doing whatever it takes. Beyond that, we are looking for an individual who demonstrates the potential to excel in their role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Supporting pupils’ learning and attending to pupils’ personal needs to support teaching and learning in the classroom and across the school.
* Supporting the preparation, planning, and implementation of individual and group learning activities and intervention programmes across the school.
* Working with pupils who have additional needs, when required.
The role is 27.5 hours per week, term time plus two days, permanent contract, equating to 192 working days per annum.

Qualifications
* Level 2 Numeracy/Literacy Qualifications Grade C/4 or higher (or equivalent grades) evidence will be required - Essential
* Evidence will be required for the individual subjects and grades achieved Grade C/4 or higher (or equivalent grades/qualifications) - Desirable
* Understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection issues - Desirable
Skills
* Qualification in supporting pupils in a school setting - Level 2 or Level 3 - Desirable
* Understanding the purpose and role of learning support - Essential
