Aylsham, North of Norwich
Part-time permanent contracts
1 x 5hrs per week – every Saturday
1 x 20.5hrs per week – two days per week, 9am-5pm and one day per week, 11.30am-5pm (including weekend working)
1 x 22.5hrs per week - three days per week, 9am-5pm (including weekend working)
Salary range (5hrs): £2,236.00 (age 18-20) to £2,974.40 (age 21 and over)
Salary range (20.5hrs): £9,167.60 (age 18-20) to £12,195.04 (age 21 and over)
Salary range (22.5hrs): £10,062.00 (age 18-20) to £13,384.80 (age 21 and over)

About the role
This role focuses on recruiting and retaining Redwings' supporters to generate income. You will welcome visitors, introduce them to the charity’s work, and encourage donations and participation in fundraising initiatives, including the Adoption Club. You will also work in the centre’s Café (including the kitchen) and Gift Shop to promote sales and generate income.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising – Visitors and supporters :
* Deliver a positive and high-quality visitor experience with the goal of recruiting and retaining Redwings’ supporters.
* Under the guidance of the Visitor Centre Senior Team Leader, welcome visitors, introduce them to the charity’s work, and explain how they can help make a difference.
* Generate income by encouraging donations, promoting fundraising initiatives, and highlighting key messages, including the charity’s adoption scheme. Ensure visitors have the opportunity to adopt and meet their chosen equine.
* Stay informed about the Sanctuary’s activities, including fundraising messages, new initiatives, appeals, and updates on rescues and welfare work. Communicate this information effectively to visitors.
Café and gift shop:
* Perform duties in the centre’s café, kitchen, and gift shop as needed, adhering to internal and external rules and regulations to ensure compliance and maintain profit margins.
* Under the guidance of your line manager, continually monitor displays, maintain stock levels, and comply with all related procedures.
* Be knowledgeable about the products, with an emphasis on those that are environmentally friendly and locally sourced.
* Always adhere to national hygiene standards and Redwings’ catering and Health and Safety procedures.
Person specification
Essential criteria
* Good standard of education and previous work experience.
* Ability to prioritise and make intelligent decisions.
* Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Able to communicate at all levels in a positive and constructive manner.
* Keen observation skills with a high level of attention to detail.
* Sound IT skills.
* Outstanding team player
* Flexible approach to tasks and workload.
* Personable and outgoing.
Desirable criteria
* Food hygiene and/or First Aid certificate
* Retail/Café/Commercial kitchen experience.
* Previous experience of working front of house and/or at a visitor attraction.
