The role
The role of a Youth Support Worker involves working within the classroom with a dedicated behavioural support team providing learning support to students in a SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) and EBD (Emotional, Behavioural Difficulties) pupil referral unit (PRU) in the Chippenham area. In this role, you will encourage, support, and engage with young people aged 11-16 years old (KS3/4) who are disengaged from education. You would do this in either small or larger groups or on a 1:1 basis. You will demonstrate this through a variety of sports-based P.E lessons or within classroom-based learning situations such as food technology or literacy and numeracy. This role is a full-time temporary to permanent position.

Requirements
To be considered for the Youth Support Worker position, you will have:
1. Previous experience of working with behaviours that challenge is highly desirable.
2. An enhanced DBS registered to the update service or the willingness to apply for one.
3. The ability to work on initiative and proactively.
4. A driving licence and a car is essential with business insurance or access to public transport.
5. Availability Monday to Friday.
