The Role:
As a Regulatory Affairs and Sustainability Associate, you will support the Regulatory Compliance team in ensuring that SI Group complies with national and international regulatory requirements. This role involves collaborating with various teams to implement sustainability standards, calculate product carbon footprints (PCF), and develop actionable regulatory strategies.
How You Will Make an Impact:
* Collaborate closely with sales teams to address customer regulatory requests.
* Implement the "Together for Sustainability" standards in calculating product carbon footprints (PCF).
* Develop and drive regulatory processes and procedures, ensuring all procedures are thoroughly documented.
* Partner with the procurement team to develop scope 3 processes for PCF calculation.
* Support site engineers and plant managers in energy mapping efforts for PCF calculations.
* Maintain an in-depth knowledge of SI Group products, including their hazard characteristics and potential impacts.
* Proactively acquire knowledge and participate in relevant projects to advance regulatory and sustainability initiatives.
* Proactively acquire new knowledge and stay updated on industry trends.
* Travel within the region for training and site visits as required (infrequently).
Creating Extraordinary Starts With:
* MS or BS degree, preferably in Chemistry.
* 2-5 years of experience in regulatory affairs and sustainability, with a focus on PCF calculation.
* Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills (both written and oral).
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Proficient in MS Office applications and database software.
* Proven ability to prioritise projects and meet deadlines.
* Broad knowledge of global chemical regulations and the ability to interpret complex government regulations and programs.
* Understanding of product carbon footprint calculation, leveraging the "Together for Sustainability" standard.
* Experience working with purchasing teams on scope 3 data collection and integrating it into PCF calculations.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under limited supervision.
* Ability to manage a variable workload, occasionally requiring work during weekends or off-hours during peak periods.
* Knowledge of SAP is advantageous.
