The research department has a vacancy for a Band 4 Clinical Trials Assistant to support research nurses, AHPs and practitioners with a portfolio of commercial and non-commercial clinical trials and research studies. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including experienced medical, nursing, administrative and support staff supporting an exciting range of studies across different specialties.
Experience in research would be advantageous but not essential - full training will be provided.
The main purpose of the role is to provide data management, administrative and some clinical support for clinical trial activities according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), standard operating procedures (SOPs) and trust policies in the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust R & D department. The post holder will provide support to the clinical team in trial activities including collecting trial data, completing data collection forms, assisting in the set-up of new trials and ongoing management of existing trials and assisting in workload management in both an administrative and clinical capacity. The department is involved in a wide portfolio of clinical trials and the post-holder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver the trials to a high standard.
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) provides hospital services to around 570,000 people living in Hampshire and parts of West Berkshire, and specialist services to patients from all over the country. We deliver a full range of district hospital services in a variety of locations and therefore, you may be required to work at different sites at times.
We are looking for an interested and enthusiastic person who can work well under pressure and as part of a team but also able to manage his/her time appropriately. This person needs to have a good common sense approach to life and be able to work flexibly and calmly in a fast paced environment. The post holder will provide administrative and some clinical support to the Research team enabling the successful running of clinical trials in a healthcare setting.
