Job summary Band 2/3 Healthcare Assistant (Theatres - Eye Day Bed Ward) This post is based at Prince Charles Eye Unit, King Edward VII Hospital, St Leonards Road, Windsor, SL4 3DP - and attracts a Fringe payment of of 5% of gross basic salary. This is a part-time post for 30 hours per week. This is an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team at the Prince Charles Eye Unit, King Edward VII Hospital in Windsor. The Adult Eye Day Bed Ward comprises of 14 day chairs, 3 recovery beds and 2 eye operating theatres. We are open Monday to Friday 07:30-18:00. We strive to provide high quality compassionate care for our patients and their families. Safety is at the forefront of our practice. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who has an interest in a career in operating theatres and would like to gain experience within Ophthalmology specialities. You should have a desire to provide compassionate support and care for patients under going eye surgical procedures. Good communication skills, a caring nature, a flexible approach and enthusiasm to work with us are essential, together with a willingness to learn and develop. Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as successful applicants will receive a comprehensive induction on commencing the post. Band 2 Healthcare Assistant (Development) - Pathway 2 If you have achieved a grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English and can provide copies of your certificates, you will be invited to interview for a Band 2 Healthcare Assistant (Development) position. Band 2 Healthcare Assistant (Development) - Pathway 3 If you do not meet the criteria for pathways 2 and 3, you will be invited to participate in one of our assessment centres, where we will assess your numeracy, literacy, listening, and IT skills.
