This role will require the individual to work in a highly collaborative environment both within Leonardo UK across our sites and with our industrial partners. The role is responsible for the consolidation, interpretation and analysis of our costing data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual pricing principles to support our financial reporting responsibilities and timelines. This role will require the individual to manage the day-to-day workload of the existing costing team, overseeing the consolidation, interpretation and analysis of our costing data. You will be expected to work closely within the FCAS PMO and provide expertise and assistance to our Work Package Leads in understanding the cost drivers and contribute to driving efficiencies to increase affordability.
What you will do:
* Develop and support complex estimating models to help support future bids.
* Manage the day-to-day workload of the existing costing team.
* Advocate for process improvement to drive efficiencies within the team.
* Present estimating requirements to internal stakeholders.
* Consolidate multiple line of business inputs.
* Perform data analysis to support affordability and pricing discussions with key stakeholders around contract proposals and internal business cases.
* Ensure pricing adherence to the latest company standards.
* Maintain integrity and accuracy within the estimates.
* Focus on future funding requirements.
Your skills and experiences:
* Strong understanding of estimating processes.
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills (ability to create estimating models).
* Strong financial analysis skills.
* Good organisational skills, demonstrated through the ability to plan, prioritise and self-manage.
* Good communicator, able to build relationships internally and externally.
* Understanding of economic variables that could affect long-term pricing.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to present and challenge at various levels of the organisation.
* Analytical and logical nature with a strong desire for continuous improvement and personal development.
* A proactive and dynamic individual who can work collaboratively and are able to recognise, develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships at all levels of the business.
* ERP system (SAP) experience.
* Understanding of project management principles (lifecycle management).
* Experience of change management and continuous improvement tools and techniques.
* Understanding of Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid delivery methodologies desirable.
* Experience in industry standard portfolio programme delivery, project control methodologies and governance.
* Experienced and proven risk management capability.
