Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering Technician
Salary: £33,800
Location: Desford, Leicestershire
Full Time: 37.50
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a proactive Manufacturing Engineering Technician who is ready to join our world-class manufacturing facility. You will be part of a highly focused team of Engineers and Technicians within the Manufacturing Engineering department whose work leads the implementation of the latest manufacturing technologies and the introduction of the latest machines.
What You Will Do:
As Manufacturing Engineering Technician, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Driving manufacturing best practices into the production environment.
* Creation of automation project management tracking, including establishing project templates and creating dashboards for KPI tracking.
* Developing and maintaining project templates using Project Management software (Microsoft Project).
* Completing root cause analysis for quality and inefficiency improvements to implement robust process containment measures.
* Facilitating the development of manufacturing process solutions and working with functional teams using a range of tools (e.g., process flows, PFMEAs, control plans). Promoting lean and quality as a focus within the business.
* Utilizing CAD software for the design of jigs, fixtures, updating floor plans, and completing virtual builds.
* Adhering to the company's Health and Safety policy and safe working practices.
* Adhering to Caterpillar's Values in Action: Integrity, Commitment, Excellence, Teamwork, & Sustainability.

What You Must Have:
* Good understanding of building and construction equipment assembly, test, or finish processes and production.
* Strong understanding of Health & Safety awareness and controls.
* Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter.
* Proven ability to create PowerBI Apps related to manufacturing environments.
* Minimal base working knowledge of Microsoft Project.

Contract: Permanent
Benefits: 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays - opportunity to buy and sell, bonus, contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution up to 10%, contributory share scheme - Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee's contribution, optional flexible benefits including access to private health and dental care plans, EV car lease, etc.
Travel: Less than 5%, travel would be mainly UK based, other facilities as and when required.
