Engelberth Construction is seeking a Mechanical Estimator who provides expertise and support to the preconstruction and operation teams related to fire protection, plumbing and HVAC systems.
The team member is responsible for:
1. Developing estimates at all phases of design.
2. Coordinating the subcontractor bidding process for CM and hard bid projects.
3. Maintaining the mechanical estimating database.
4. Providing internal coordination with other team members related to mechanical systems (cost, scheduling, design issues, bidding strategies, and other risk management efforts).
5. Supporting business development efforts by assisting with RFP responses and possibly attending project interviews.
6. Performing mechanical system material and equipment takeoff.
7. Coordinating with equipment and material vendors for current technologies and pricing.
8. Developing cost estimates using Timberline/Sage estimating software.
9. Understanding the subcontractor market conditions and developing subcontractor bid lists.
10. Developing subcontractor bid packages directing specific trade work scopes.
11. Reviewing subcontractor bids and proposals for conformance to requested information.
12. Discussing estimates and subcontractor bidding results with Owners and Design team members.
13. Providing constructability reviews and quality control feedback to designers.
14. Developing cost reduction strategies and evaluating value engineering suggestions for cost and schedule impact.

The right candidate will have an Engineering degree with 5+ years of design experience or equal years of mechanical trade estimating experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Have proficiency in (or the desire to learn) digital take-off and estimating software.
