Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Middlesex
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Rota can be provided, includes two weekends per month. Working week consists of two 13-hour days supplemented by two 7-hour days.
Setting: 6-Bed Home, currently with 3 residing between 13 to 15 year olds.

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join a highly committed team at a children’s home in Middlesex looking to help improve the performance of the setting.
About the Role
As a Deputy Manager, you will:
1. Assist the Registered Manager in maintaining the smooth and effective running of the home.
2. Lead by example, managing and guiding the team to deliver exceptional care to children and young people.
3. Support children’s physical, psychological, and emotional development in a safe and nurturing environment.
4. Ensure the home complies with regulatory requirements, including Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
5. Step into the Manager’s role during absences, maintaining the home to a high standard.
6. Oversee staff rotas, training, supervision, and performance management.
7. Act as a mentor to staff, fostering their professional growth and confidence.
8. Manage behaviours that challenge and guide staff in effective strategies.
9. Monitor and maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring they meet statutory requirements.

About You
To be successful, you will:
1. Have at least 2 years’ experience working in a children’s home, with supervisory responsibilities.
2. Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care with Children and Young People.
3. Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations, safeguarding, and inspection frameworks.
4. Have experience supporting children with learning disabilities and communicating effectively to understand their wishes and feelings.
5. Possess excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Be proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Clearcare Solutions is advantageous.
7. Hold a full UK driving licence.
