We are currently seeking a Graduate Noise Consultant to join a UK leading acoustic consultancy in the Liverpool area.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading noise consultancy providing engineering services to the property, infrastructure, energy, and environmental markets across the UK. Based near Liverpool, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to work as part of a well-established, successful team on a wide variety of exciting projects in the regeneration, education, healthcare, property, waste, and energy sectors. Candidates should have a leaning towards Acoustics but be willing to provide support to other environmental services provided by the team, such as Environmental Impact Assessment.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of standalone noise assessments;
2. Input to Environmental Statements;
3. Completion of environmental noise monitoring;
4. Noise modelling using a recognized software package such as CADNA-A;
5. Client liaison and providing advice to design teams;
6. Ability to work autonomously with excellent communication skills (including technical report writing).
Minimum Requirements:
1. A degree, together with either the Institute of Acoustics Post Graduate Diploma in Acoustics Control or an MSc in Acoustics;
2. Associate Membership of the Institute of Acoustics;
3. Experience of noise monitoring and assessment procedures including BS4142 and BS5228;
4. A solid understanding of noise and vibration legislation, standards, and best practice;
5. Good technical knowledge of acoustics in the built and natural environment and the ability to develop noise mitigation measures;
6. An understanding of the Environmental Impact Assessment process;
7. Previous experience working for an environmental or engineering consultancy with a variety of clients including contractors, developers, and house builders;
8. Excellent communication skills both oral and written;
9. Commercial awareness together with a pragmatic, positive, and proactive approach;
10. The ability to work as part of a team delivering integrated services;
11. A full UK Driving Licence.
