Deputy Director - Join Our Leadership Team Are you a passionate leader looking for an exciting challenge? We’re seeking a dynamic Deputy Director to guide strategic and operational excellence in our prison, helping us foster a respectful and service-oriented culture. Your Role: As Deputy Director, you’ll lead on-call duties to maintain a safe and supportive environment for staff and inmates. You’ll ensure compliance with regulations, achieve performance targets, and manage operational, financial, and reputational risks while promoting rehabilitation and diversity. Key Responsibilities: Drive performance to achieve Green audit status for security and living conditions. Develop contingency plans and strive to meet HMIP expectations. Oversee key operational projects and engage with stakeholders for regulatory compliance. Manage financial aspects, develop budgets, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Handle serious incidents and represent the prison to build vital community networks. Collaborate with the Senior Management Team to enhance overall performance and policy adherence. Person Specification: We’re looking for someone with: Must have extensive experience in prison operational management at a senior level, leading large teams or operations. A talent for creating engaging visions and rallying stakeholders around them. A strong commitment to the values of Mitie Care & Custody and insights into contractual environments. Commercial acumen to manage budgets and drive improvements. Exceptional interpersonal skills and authentic leadership. Technical knowledge of prison legislation, policies, and the justice system. Preferred qualifications include Level 3 or equivalent and relevant training in Silver command or incident management.
