Job summary
An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a friendly, hardworking and experienced Clerical Officer to join our Rheumatology Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual with good communication, organisation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative; you will provide vital administrative support for the Osteoporosis Clinical Nurse Specialist and Consultants.
The ideal candidates will have previous clerical experience with a high level of computer literacy and will be able to deal effectively with prioritising workload and deadlines. The post holder must be able to work with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all post will be on a permanent basis working hours per week. Work schedule can be discussed on appointment.
Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the Rheumatology/ Osteoporosis team providing efficient and effective administration and secretarial support for the Rheumatology clinical services
The Clerical officer will maintain a close working relationship with the Directorate Service Manager and Consultants as well as other medical, admin and nursing staff within the service.
The Clerical officer will be expected to routinely monitor and validate the osteoporosis/dexa waiting times, escalating issues and concerns to the Directorate Service Manager as necessary. General administration duties such as dealing with patient/colleague queries, outpatient booking and planning and data collection will be part of this role. Typing of outpatient clinic letters, printing of dexa reports and entering referrals onto WPAS will also be part of this role.
The post holder will be expected to manage their own workload and therefore act independently.
This post will be worked across sites to ensure the service's needs are met.
