An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2/3 Part time/Full time seconded posts until September 2025. Band will be determined by experience and qualifications.
Based at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, a small, friendly, and supportive team is constantly evolving and refining patient pathways for patients admitted with suspected or known heart failure. Covering the John Radcliffe Monday to Friday, the team has a strong culture of learning with regular team meetings, MDTs, and education sessions.
We are looking for a registered nurse with experience in cardiac nursing and heart failure care. The post holder will support and facilitate the delivery of multidisciplinary care for heart failure patients admitted to the trust, encompassing aspects of education, research, and management across the pillars of professional practice, grounded in direct clinical care provision.
Main duties of the job
* Promote and ensure the delivery of high-quality, multidisciplinary, evidence-based care throughout the patient pathway.
* Contribute to the professional development of the heart failure service.
* Assess patients admitted with confirmed or suspected heart failure and collaborate with the MDT on management plans.
* Provide information, education, and support to patients and family/carers.
* Act as a resource for nursing colleagues, contributing to educational activities.
Person specification
* Registered nurse part 1 or 8 or 12 or 15 of register (depending on area of practice)
* First degree in nursing, midwifery (HEI Level 5 or 6) or equivalent
* Demonstrable post-graduate level working
* Relevant specialist post-basic programme
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Completed or completing Masters level (HEI level 7) qualification or evidence of working towards
Knowledge
* Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge in the specialty
* Knowledge of key professional issues and NMC guidelines
* Experience of applying research evidence to clinical practice
Skills / abilities
* Confident in own knowledge base, aware of learning needs
* Previous experience of formal/informal teaching of patients and staff
