Head of City Strategy and Corporate Programmes
Salary: Grade 12 Level 1 – 4 (£56,903 - £64,035)
Do you have the drive to improve resident experience and the determination to enhance the city, spotting opportunities and setting out strategies to work with partners to deliver our plan for a healthier, fairer, more sustainable, and more accessible city?
Local authorities have never been more needed, yet decades of under-funding are creating a huge gap between what’s needed and what’s possible.
We need to change how we operate and focus on early ways to improve residents' lives while identifying opportunities to enhance how everyone lives and works in the city, reducing inequalities so everyone can enjoy the city’s strengths. With a dedicated workforce, strong relationships with committed partners, and shared ambitions for the city, we must change how we work with health, community, and care partners to become the next generation of local authorities while responding to new investment opportunities to set out a strategic plan so the city is future-fit and ready for predicted population growth.
This role will rethink entire systems, break through barriers, and draw on the collective wisdom of residents, communities, and partners to describe the steps we must take to be more efficient, effective, and focused on what matters while having the structure and programme management discipline to make change happen.
If you think you have the drive, resourcefulness, and commitment to transform how the council reduces inequalities while setting us on a path that will reimagine opportunities across the city, in close collaboration with partners, residents, businesses, members, and community groups, we want to hear from you.
