Job Title: Qualified Children’s Social Worker – Safeguarding Team Location: Bristol Children’s Services Salary: Up to £40 per hour Contract Type: Temporary/Contract Bristol Children’s Services is looking for a dedicated and experienced Qualified Children’s Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Team. This role is vital in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in our community. You will be working in a dynamic environment where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. Key Responsibilities: Assessment and Intervention: Undertake assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act, working closely with children in need, those on a Child Protection (CP) plan, and families involved in pre-proceedings or court processes. Team Collaboration: Work within a small, supportive unit comprised of a Team Manager, three Social Workers, a Family Support Worker, and an Assistant. Build strong relationships with team members to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to safeguarding. Direct Work with Families: Use a strengths-based approach and systemic principles to engage with families, focusing on their needs and empowering them towards positive outcomes. Case Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using Liquid Logic (LCS), ensuring compliance with Bristol Children’s Services’ policies and procedures. Support and Training: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in safeguarding and child protection practices. Office Presence: As this position requires building relationships within the team, you will be expected to be in the office full-time at the start of your assignment. Requirements: Qualification: Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England. Experience: Proven experience in children’s social work, particularly in safeguarding, and familiarity with assessments under S17 and S47. Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and build relationships with families. Knowledge: Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures, with experience in court-related work being advantageous.
