The Urgent Care Head of Nursing is a key position. The post holder is professionally accountable to the Group Chief Nurse / Director of Patient Safety and Quality, with a prime focus on the day to day delivery of high standards of patient centred care across integrated care pathways and services. The post holder will work closely with the Alliance Partnership Tees - Service Lead.

Working closely as a triumvirate with the Urgent Care Clinical Director and the Alliance Partnership Tees, Service Lead, the Head of Nursing is responsible for the Group's operational and strategic nursing leadership and will lead improvements in care and service delivery to support the achievement of organisational priorities to improve services for patients using our urgent care services.

The Head of Nursing is responsible and accountable for the development and delivery of safe and high quality patient care across the University Hospital Tees Group - Urgent Care Services. This key role has specific responsibility for leading the development of professional nursing services ensuring that the highest standard of care is delivered, supported by a robust clinical governance framework. The Head of Nursing has a responsibility to guide and support operational teams in embedding the Trusts Patient Quality strategy.
The Head of Nursing will provide high profile, visible leadership within the Group with responsibility for ensuring that the delivery of safe and high quality patient care is underpinned by robust systems for planning, service delivery and performance management. The post holder will be working across 4 hospital sites.
The post holder will provide professional nursing leadership and appropriate line management to all of the urgent care teams and ensure professional leadership arrangements and supervision are in place for the relevant practitioners / non registered workforce.
