Location: London Employment type: Permanent, full time Salary: Competitive plus benefits The Opportunity Our exciting Sizewell C (SZC) project – a proposed new nuclear power station to be built on the Suffolk coast - would provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years which, along with renewables, will support Britain’s Net Zero aim by 2050. We're looking for multiple Project Managers to join our Nuclear Island Engineering Delivery Programme, tasked with driving the delivery of the SZC project, largely through the replication of Hinkley Point C (HPC). The Role You’ll be responsible for overseeing all activities associated with the delivery of engineering contracts and securing resources that meet business and technical requirements, ensuring they’re delivered safely, as well as on time and budget. Specifically, you’ll be accountable for: Overseeing the nuclear power plant systems, structures and components within your programme, maximising the replication of HPC Working with the responsible designer and key contractors to deliver engineering studies, in line with the requirements for SZC Working with multidisciplinary teams on post financial investment contracts (terms & conditions, contractual appendices and technical specifications) Driving the implementation of SZC site-specific design changes Managing internal and external interfaces to ensure a coordinated approach to design and delivery Managing early engagement with stakeholders (including equipment suppliers) to identify obsolescence issues and other risks to replication Managing the technical elements of the procurement process for specific contracts Maintaining strong links with the project managers and engineers responsible for delivering equivalent scope at Hinkley Point C and implementing all lessons learned The Skills To be successful in this role, you’ll be able to demonstrate the following skills/ experience: Experience of coordinating multi-disciplinary design/ procurement work and driving design/procurement teams to deliver on time Project management or project engineering experience Background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems or civil engineering for large industrial plants Experience of the pre-tender and tender stages of procuring contracts for the design, manufacturing and/ or installation of industrial equipment Excellent communication skills in client-facing and contractor-facing situations Desirable: Experience in the nuclear industry Chartership Formal project management qualification Competitive Salary & Benefits At EDF we’re dedicated to offering flexible benefits that support our people across all aspects of their lives.
