If so we would love to receive your application to join us at Budmouth Academy.
Budmouth Academy is a large 11-18 academy in a beautiful part of the country and is a member of the Aspirations Academies Trust. We are seeking an exceptional colleague to join our leadership team and to help us continue the work in ensuring that high standards are achieved by all of our students. This post would act as great preparation for future vice principal roles and for headships.
We are looking for an ambitious and innovative leader with a successful track record of school improvement. This post offers the opportunity for involvement in all aspects of school leadership and management and the successful candidate will contribute to a range of whole school responsibilities. A background in maths, science or history is desirable, but not essential. However, in the first instance the key responsibilities for this post will include the leadership of Hawking School. This includes the Hawking students’ academic progress, behaviour, personal development and wellbeing, including both attendance and safeguarding. The successful candidate will therefore need to have a strong background in aspects of attendance, behaviour management, personal development and wellbeing. The Head of Hawking will also line manage the Behaviour & Ethos Coordinator and Pastoral Support Leader for Hawking School, as well as performing other leadership roles as negotiated with the Acting Principal.
The Assistant Principal will contribute to the successful strategic leadership of the Academy and will be accountable, as a member of the senior leadership team, for inspiring, managing and leading staff and students to achieve their very best. Alongside these attributes, candidates should be able to demonstrate an ability to effectively enthuse and lead others and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing continuing professional development relevant to their position.
Budmouth Academy Weymouth is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is therefore subject to an enhanced DBS check. We value the diversity of our workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
Aspirations Academy Trust also offers all staff a comprehensive package of leadership CPD programmes, including qualifications that are recognised nationally. In addition, Budmouth has its very own Well-being Charter and working group, as we genuinely prioritise the well-being of our staff
If you have not heard from us by the 20th March 2025 then please assume that on this occasion your application has been unsuccessful.
