Plating Operator
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
Location: Whitstable, Kent
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 08:00am to 16:30pm and Friday 08:00am to 13:30pm

Plating Operator Tasks:
1. Read and follow all relevant documentation to carry out plating and finishing processes to company standards.
2. Adhere to company process, manufacturing, and health and safety procedures.
3. Follow the production plan and keep accurate quality records.
4. Identify and apply correct jigging methods for a range of parts or wiring/barrelling methods.
5. Handle chemicals safely in accordance with plating department procedures.
6. Use x-ray spectrometer and other quality monitoring equipment to measure plating thickness.
7. Conduct visual inspections to ensure compliance with company quality standards.
8. Understand and adhere to departmental and company health and safety rules.
9. Perform all duties competently as a plating operator.
10. Carry out additional tasks as reasonably requested.
Essential Experience:
1. Ability to read and follow detailed documentation.
2. Experience in plating or finishing processes.
3. Knowledge of safe handling practices for chemicals.
4. Proficiency in using quality monitoring equipment (e.g., x-ray spectrometer).
5. Understanding of manufacturing quality control procedures.
Desirable:
1. Previous experience in precision engineering sectors (e.g., aerospace, oil & gas).
