Contract - Fulltime, Permanent
Hours - Mon to Thurs 8:00am to 5:00pm & Fri 8:00am to 2:00pm
Work Environment - Primarily office-based with independent and team-oriented tasks. This role may involve travel to suppliers and customer locations.
Purpose of Role
Drive supplier management and sourcing strategies to maximise profitability.
Key Responsibilities of the Buyer:
Manage RFQ to SOP processes for new business awards.
Oversee daily commercial supplier management, including cost reduction initiatives.
Develop innovative ideas to enhance profitability through commercial or process efficiencies.
Support Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) by managing supplier delivery issues and negotiating claims.
Formulate and implement commodity strategies covering packaging, logistics, and consumables.

Key Skills of the Buyer:
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Strong analytical, literacy, and numeracy abilities
Demonstrated negotiation expertise
Ideal Experience:
Willingness to travel within the UK
Previous experience as a Buyer or Graduate Buyer
Proven experience managing projects from RFQ to SOP
Track record of meeting project goals and achieving cost reductions
Educational Background:
Graduate degree in Business, Mathematics, or related field preferred
CIPS certification (desirable but not required)
Additional Requirements:
Strong numerical and communication skills
Ability to summarize complex data and present insights to management
Flexible and adaptable to meet evolving business needs
