Engineering Stores Operative
£24,000 + Overtime at Enhanced Rates & Regular Overtime & 25 Days Holiday
Based in Letchworth - Monday to Friday - 8am-4pm
5D Recruitment is proud to be working exclusively, and in partnership with a leading engineering company based in the heart of the home counties. Employing nearly 50 people they design, manufacture, assemble, test, and ship bespoke machinery from their new, world-class facility.
They are market leaders in the concept design and manufacture of fully automated, high precision, bespoke machines which are used to complete complex functions required to guarantee the quality of the product. Working across a variety of industries their main markets include the medical and scientific sectors.
This opportunity has arisen due to growth, and we are looking to recruit at least one stores person to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the stores function is maintained throughout this peak of work.
What the Role will involve:
1. Goods in - receiving components from couriers, checking of the documentation, and checking the quality to make sure there is no damage.
2. Booking in - taking the components, scanning them on to the SAP system, and then putting the part into its designated location in the stores.
3. Picking - Printing off daily picking lists, and picking the parts needed by the fitters for their machine build. Kitting the parts and delivering it to the relevant assembly bay.
4. Shipping - Sending spares to customers all over the world. Working with courier specific systems to send and track the delivery. This could be anything from a small component to a complete machine.
5. Inventory Management - Ensuring stock levels are accurate to minimise delays on machine build. This could be spot checks, planned inventory and stock takes, and reporting the results.
What we are looking for in the Candidate:
1. An experienced Stores operative, ideally with experience working in a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment.
2. FLT experience, counterbalance or reach truck. A full refresher and license will be provided.
3. IT literate, and ideally experience with working with SAP - scanning, printing off picking lists etc.
4. A pro-active person, someone not afraid to ask questions and who doesn't need micro-managing!
