The role
The role of a Youth Support Worker involves working within the classroom with a dedicated behavioural support team providing learning support to students in a SEMH (social Emotional, Mental Health and EBD (Emotional, Behavioural difficulties) School in the Chesterfield area. In this role you will encourage and engage with young people aged 11 – 16 years old (KS3/4) who are disengaged from Education in either groups or on a 1:1 basis, this will either be through a variety of sports-based P.E lessons or within classroom-based learning. This role is a full time temporary to permanent position.

This school in particular will be based in a brand-new site within Chesterfield that is rated ‘excellent’ by a recent Ofsted report. The school caters for young people who have been permanent excluded from mainstream school.
Requirements
To be considered for the Youth Support Worker position, you will have:
• Previous experience of working with behaviours that challenge is highly desirable
• An enhanced DBS registered to the update service or the willingness to apply for one
• The ability to work on initiative and proactively
• Be Team Teach Trained – Level 2 or be willing to undertake a course through us free of charge.
• A driving licence and a car is essential
• Available Monday to Friday
