Are you able to support vulnerable young people across Blaenau Gwent who have housing related support needs, including those who require support to establish and maintain a tenancy and those who are homeless?
We are searching for a Floating Support Worker - for a temporary contract until May (could go on for longer, funding dependent).
What will you do?
Support people aged 16 - 25 across Blaenau-Gwent who are affected by homelessness and struggling to find, secure or maintain appropriate accommodation
Undertake assessments of need in accordance with the support assessment procedure and as directed by the Projects Manager.
Undertake risk assessments and risk management plans, including safety planning in accordance with policies and procedures.
Work within a multi-agency settings where possible (mainly internal projects), with travel across Blaenau-Gwent
Liaise with colleagues to provide timely, appropriate support.
Work within the Supporting People Gateway framework, liaising with staff as required for case management and allocation.
Deliver support and assistance to each person in accordance with the ethos, values and policies of the charity.
What will you get?
This is a temporary contract until May (longer depending on funding).
£13.14 per hour + holiday pay.
Monday to Friday.
35 hours per week (full time).

What do we need?
Someone with experience in supporting people facing housing and homelessness issues.
A driver who can get around the area.
You will need a DBS on the update service - This is ESSENTIAL.
A good understanding of the causes and effects of homelessness.
Able to stay calm in a crisis.
Good knowledge of the housing sector.
Someone who can speak out for others and act as an advocate.
