About the Role
This role requires an expert in traded risk, market and counterparty risk, or wholesale credit risk, with significant experience operating at C-suite, partner, or board level within investment banking firms, banks with significant wholesale activities, or advisory firms.
This is a part-time position (3 days per week) offering a unique opportunity to influence supervisory and regulatory strategies, support key decision-making processes, and contribute to policy development in the financial sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide independent advice, strategic challenge, and industry insights to the PRA on topics impacting the banking sector and the wider financial system.
* Support policy and supervision teams, advising on key challenges faced by firms and contributing to the PRA’s assessment of sector-wide risks.
* Offer expert guidance on prudential supervision, risk management, and regulatory frameworks within the banking sector.
* Work with supervisors on high-profile firm-specific supervision priorities.
* Participate in decision-making panels and interview panels for prospective senior managers of PRA-regulated firms, offering independent challenge.
* Maintain and develop key external relationships, engaging with industry stakeholders to identify emerging risks.
* Ensure robust procurement and supplier management governance, designing and monitoring compliance processes aligned with regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and deliver change management communications related to commercial policies and procurement.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Extensive experience at C-suite, partner, or board level within regulated financial institutions or advisory firms.
* Expertise in market and counterparty risk, wholesale credit risk, traded risk, or related disciplines within investment banking or wholesale banking.
* Strong understanding of prudential regulation, risk management frameworks, and supervisory approaches.
* Proven ability to influence policy decisions, regulatory strategies, and compliance frameworks.
* Experience in procurement governance, supplier management, and commercial policy development.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesise data from multiple sources to support strategic decision-making.
* Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to build constructive relationships at all levels.
* Ability to handle confidential and commercially sensitive information appropriately.
