This is a 12-month temporary contract (with possibilities for extension) based in Essex.
Your new role
You will be an Environmental Manager on the Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) project: a high-profile and complex highway project in the pre-construction phase. As the project is not yet on site, you’ll be working in the Essex office (3 days a week) and at home (2 days).
You will be helping to deliver sustainability targets that achieve the aims of the project's sustainability strategy. You will be ensuring environmental compliance across all major environmental aspects (water, waste, noise/vibration, and ecology) – and provide advice and guidance to various teams to help achieve this.
Your 12-month contract will be spent:
1. Developing environmental management plans
2. Managing input from specialist consultants
3. Coordinating and supporting other operational functions to ensure environmental constraints are considered
4. Liaising with clients
5. Reporting on ongoing projects
What you'll need to succeed
1. A degree level in an appropriate environmental or relevant discipline
2. Environmental Advisor / Manager experience (preferably highways)
3. Be able to hit the ground running and use project management experience to ensure timely delivery
4. Full driving licence and willingness to travel
5. CSCS card (ideal)
6. NEBOSH / CIEEM membership (ideal)
