We are recruiting for a dedicated Teacher to join our Alternative Provision (AP) school in Totnes, where we support students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) who thrive in a tailored, supportive learning environment.
About the Role:
As a Teacher in our Alternative Provision, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that inspire and support the unique needs of each pupil. You will work collaboratively within a supportive team to create individualised learning plans that help each student achieve their fullest potential in both academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with EHCPs.
Use a range of teaching methods and resources to connect with students who may face barriers in traditional educational settings.
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, fostering a safe and encouraging classroom environment.
Track and monitor pupil progress, adapting learning approaches as needed.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff and support teams to ensure a holistic approach to each pupil’s development.
Candidate Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
Experience in an Alternative Provision or SEN setting is desirable but not essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and motivate students.
Resilience, patience, and creativity in supporting students with diverse needs.
Must hold a valid driving license and have access to reliable transport.
