We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic band 7 specialist respiratory physiotherapist to provide clinical leadership for the therapy team within the Adult Community Respiratory Service. The team delivers a Pulmonary Rehabilitation service for patients within the central Lancashire footprint. This service is currently taking part in the national PR accreditation scheme.
We also offer specialist clinic reviews and home visits for patients with respiratory conditions. You will join our multidisciplinary team providing a specialist service for respiratory patients across the Preston, Chorley and South Ribble localities.
You will be primarily involved with delivery of the successful Pulmonary Rehabilitation service and actively involved in the Quality Improvement journey the service has begun recently towards national accreditation. Other services the therapists deliver include airway clearance, breathlessness and anxiety management and energy conservation to patients at home or in clinics.
CPD is actively encouraged, through internal and external training opportunities, clinical supervision and peer support. We welcome students on placements from local universities, giving opportunities for development of teaching, supervision and mentoring skills.
It is essential that you have previous experience of working with patients with respiratory conditions. You will have the ability to work alongside a multidisciplinary team. You must be able to manage your own workload and share your skills and knowledge with patients, carers and other health professionals. Appointment for the post is subject to an enhanced disclosure with the DBS.
The therapy team currently provide a service from 0830-1630 Monday-Friday but this could change in response to the needs of the service. The COPD home support service is provided from 0800-2000, 7 days a week which is covered on a rota/shift basis.
This post involves travelling across Preston, Chorley, South Ribble and carrying small pieces of equipment e.g. nebulisers, so you must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle. There are office bases in the Minerva Health Centre and Buckshaw Health Centre currently.
