We are seeking to recruit an exceptional member of our team into the newly created role of Community Liaison Officer. The successful candidate would report directly to the Deputy Headteacher/ Designated Safeguarding Leader (DSL) as their Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL). Within the role, the successful candidate would work within the school’s wider Pastoral and Safeguarding Team to assist the DSL in their duty to ensure that every member of our school community is safe. This role would place you centrally to a team of Heads of Year, Assistant Heads of Year, Behaviour Mentors and Pastoral Support Staff, working in close conjunction with our SEND Team too. As our student need is set to grow in our feeder primary cohorts, and with growing community need, we believe in investing in safeguarding, in our community and families so are looking to recruit to role.
Our boys are incredibly warm, have excellent manners and are true representatives of our 3Rs of respect, responsibility and readiness to aim high in all that they do. This role requires the successful candidate to be organisational and strategic in representing boys at formal meetings with external agencies, meeting with parents/carers and largely, meeting with boys to discuss and review their learning needs and clearly reporting and communicating the needs of the child. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, to take a lead role in providing student-centred support whilst working closely with our key families and external agencies. This role is a cement to the team around the child. The role would also involve communication and liaison with school staff, identifying patterns from observations and logging around young people’s safety and attend meetings with agencies involved in social care and external services.
The successful candidate would receive a full DBS and school-based training but key skills of integrity, clear communication and initiative are vital to the role. This role does not require QTS but experience of working within the safeguarding of young people and experience working with education and external services within Tameside would be beneficial. A passion for the future of young people is essential.
