This role will be responsible for delivering and developing pricing of our Retail Protection products. This is a key role in enabling the Retail Protection function to achieve its growth strategy. Working within a small but perfectly formed team we desire someone with protection pricing experience, who gets the detail of the modelling and has a great understanding of the retail protection market.
What will you be doing?
1. Develop and enhance modelling approaches for pricing using the latest techniques and software
2. Adapt pricing approaches to be suitable for different markets and channels
3. Accelerate the timescale of delivery of rates to market
4. Ensure processes / models are robust, scalable and adhere to internal / external governance and regulatory requirements
5. Monitor performance of Retail Protection products (term life, CI, IP, WoL and other related benefits/propositions) against plan targets and proactively identify and implement initiatives to enable success
6. Embed new propositions / proposition enhancements into the pricing process
7. Employ tactical pricing solutions where required
Who are we looking for?
8. A qualified or part-qualified actuary ideally with protection pricing experience at a UK insurer / reinsurer
9. A good knowledge of pricing techniques, elasticity modelling, reinsurance, and profitability metrics
10. Excellent data analysis skills, able to confidently work with large data sets
11. Programming experience in R/Python/SQL or related language - coding in Python will be a key part of this role
12. A good knowledge of the UK Protection market
13. Programming experience in R/Python/SQL desirable
14. Excellent collaboration, organisation, and communication skills
