Key Responsibilities of the Design and Technology Teacher: Deliver high-quality lessons in Design and Technology, covering various aspects of the subject. Develop and implement engaging teaching materials and resources for Design and Technology students. Encourage students to develop practical skills in design, electronics, CAD, and product creation. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support. Maintain a safe and well-organised classroom environment, ensuring all students can access materials and equipment. Organise and supervise practical projects, workshops, and school exhibitions. Contribute to the development of the Design and Technology curriculum and share innovative ideas with colleagues. Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving in students through project-based learning. Ensure students are motivated and engaged in Design and Technology lessons. Key Skills and Qualifications: Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent. Strong knowledge of Design and Technology, with experience teaching various aspects such as product design, CAD, and electronics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A passion for design, technology, and practical learning. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Experience teaching Design and Technology in secondary education is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with using design software and technology tools in the classroom is an advantage.
