Your future role
Take on a new challenge in Plymouth and apply your management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to the Site Tenders and Projects Director and work alongside a dedicated and passionate Services team in Alstom UK&I. Being part of the Services Execution UK function management team, you’ll be the Primary Project Interface to the Core Team / Customer's Operations team(s) and Core Team/Project lead.
We’ll look to you for the following:
* The day-to-day delivery of the contractual obligations to the customer.
* The leadership and direction of the projects team(s).
* Project strategy leader and key customer lead.
* The profit & loss of the project and its associated estimate at completion position including return on performance. Provide appropriate project performance reporting at project reviews, customer reviews, and governance meetings (Monthly Project Review, Governance Project Review/Financial Project Review, Critical Project Reviews) utilizing appropriate tools.
* Managing the customer interface on a day-to-day basis ensuring delivery to contract requirements and driving customer satisfaction.
* Site management - responsible for Alstom site and staff management, quality, EHS processes in order to achieve and maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
* The leadership and direction of an on-site team and functions including managing individual performance & development, succession planning using the appropriate Alstom tools (ALPS/APSYS).
This will involve ensuring the successful delivery of the Technical Services and Spares Supply Agreement (TSSSA) to Great Western Railway (GWR) within budget to meet the end customer needs. Working to ensure consistent application of procedures and financial controls and budgets, providing regular reports (KPIs) for onsite activities. Ensuring that customer/supplier relations, communication, and performance are maximized, both internally and externally, while ensuring the delivery of risks and opportunities/savings to enhance Alstom's margin and positioning with the customer, all to be undertaken while maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards.

* Significant experience of project and operational management incorporating best practice, total quality management, continuous improvement, lean management, six sigma, 8D analysis, and ISO 9001 processes, preferably within the rail industry.
* Proven track record in continuous improvement and cost-down delivery.
* Experience in QHSE site-based requirements.
* IOSH Managing Safely.
* Strong project management skills.
* Strong contract and commercial knowledge.
* Good communicator both through face-to-face discussions and presentations.
* Excellent people management skills.
