What you become part of:
Edmonton Distribution Centre is a 24/7 operation, 364 days per year. Our Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) warehouse holds over 25,000 pallets, with a typical annual throughput of two million pallets. Every 24 hours we expect to receive around 2,500 pallets from the on-site manufacturing operation, directly into the ASRS, as well as handling around 200 vehicle movements. Inbound vehicles arrive from our other factory sites, with palletised goods which must be put away promptly and safely into the ASRS and accurately recorded. At the same time, orders of full pallets will be pre-assembled into gravity racking and side-loaded on third party haulage vehicles, for dispatch to our customers and other sites across our network.
What to expect:
Your role will consist of the following:
1. Operating a counterbalance forklift truck to fulfil loading and unloading requirements, both side and rear loading.
2. Inverting and reworking pallets – some manual handballing of stock may be required.
3. Gaining further skills and experience within the Distribution office, including the coordination of hauliers onto dock doors, operating the warehouse management system, using Microsoft Office, and handling delivery paperwork.
4. Working within a team and business that focuses on employee wellbeing and engagement.
Skills & Essentials:
1. Preferably experience of working within a FMCG or another warehousing environment.
2. Capable of maintaining exceptional standards of health & safety.
3. Maintain exceptional standards of Customer Service.
4. Ability to work with computer systems including Microsoft Office. Full training is provided; however, some existing capability for using computer systems is essential.
5. Previous counterbalance forklift truck experience preferred; however, full training can be provided for the right candidate.
6. Achieve productivity targets whilst paying attention to detail.
7. Working on shifts, you will take a flexible and co-operative approach to changes in the rota to meet the needs of the business and its customers, operating on a predominately 4 on 4 off 12 hours a shift, days and nights schedule.
